As Operations Manager, you are responsible for managing a team of 10 to 20 colleagues in various departments throughout the hotel. Together with the management team, you are the point of contact for both colleagues and guests, and sometimes you also fulfill the role of host or hostess. In addition, you support the General Manager in daily management, you guarantee guest satisfaction and you contribute to achieving the financial objectives. Your tasks also include training and developing the team, ensuring employee satisfaction, making schedules and purchasing supplies. In short, as Operations Manager you play a key role in the success of the hotel. You are involved in orders, HACCP, social hygiene and budgets. And you keep your eyes open for opportunities and improvements, all to get the best out of your team and location.
The intention is to start getting to know the hotel by first concentrating on the heart of the hotel, our front office and the employees there and booking and guiding our business groups.
What are you good at?
You know how to forge a team with enthusiastic and professional colleagues, who enjoy their work and who also transfer that enjoyment to those around them. You give people the space to be themselves, but also closely monitor the team spirit and the working atmosphere. In doing so, you always have the utmost satisfaction of the members and their guests as your top priority.
You can put stress and pressure into perspective, keep an overview and ensure continuity and stability. You move just as easily on the floor as behind the scenes, and can therefore handle a tray just as well as Word and Excel. The tone of your answers is always positive, enthusiastic and solution-oriented.
You love the hospitality industry. Of course, the hospitality industry can sometimes be tough and requires a lot of flexibility, but for you there is no better job than to really let people enjoy themselves. That gives you energy, and you radiate that.
The season and the weather conditions provide different peaks and troughs, which means that you sometimes work long days and sometimes you can take a day off more often.
